Let's Go Fly a Kite

It's that time again. This weeks theme is summer fun. I have TONS of photos that go with this but a lot of them were the exact same picture other people posted. I TRY to keep things original when I enter contest. That way ALL the photos aren't the same. So I choose this picture.




If you click on the picture and look at it a little bigger you can spot the kite! We went kite flying with grandpa while we were in Utah and we got it SUPER high...then it fell and crashed into a tree. haha It was fun while it lasted though. I just love how pretty the sky is and how high up the kite is in the picture. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I know I am. I am off to Utah again and within a couple of hours of getting there I get to go see the newest Twilight movie with my sisters and some of their crazy friends. I can't wait.

These Boots Were Made For Walking...

Thursday I did a photo shoot for the lucky bride from the engagement shoot I just did last month. I am so mad because her wedding is while I am in Utah so not only can I NOT go, but I can't be her photographer either! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Let's face it, I just don't much opportunity do shoot weddings. So I was sad. I told her that once her dress I was done ( her Aunt was making it for her ) I could come over and do pictures of her in her dress. When I went to her bridal shower, she showed me the dress and also mentioned that her sisters dresses were done too. She asked about doing the bridal portraits again and I told her that I could do some of her and her sisters if she wanted. My problem is they live 30 minutes away and my baby sitter was out of town. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Lucky for me her Aunt Jen who made the dress, just happens to be my friend, live 5 minutes from Lettice's house and have kids my kid's ages who like to play together. She offered to watch them for me and since I have watched her kids once or twice for her I didn't have to pay her. How nice is that?! It was a HOT day too. The kids got along fine. Kayla and Josh apparently snuggled and kissed the whole time so the older kids were gonna do a fake wedding for them. haha I got some good pictures of the girls. I would love to post some but since her wedding isn't until Friday I'd better wait do no one sees her in her dress before hand. When she gets back I promise to post some. Her is one of just the girls feet. I knew they had cow girl boots so we busted them out for the last round of pictures. I loved getting to take pictures of sisters because it reminded my of MY sisters who I get to see on Wednesday! YEAH!

Hearts

I took these pictures in Utah. I was trying to use my new filters. It was supposed to make the light look like hearts. It KIND of worked but either way I like the pictures.

A Little Funny

I have talked before about angles. I LOVE angles. My goal in photography is that if I was taking a picture of the same building with another person, I would HOPE that my pictures would look totally different because of the angles I choose to use. Sometimes that means laying on the ground or getting into uncomfortable and UGLY positions. But it's all good when you get the picture you want. For instance I got this picture I put in my previous post at the Temple

HAHA My sister was taking pictures too and she snapped this picture of Kayla and Tyler ALL over me while I was trying to get the pictures I wanted. Attractive huh? These pictures crack me up! Thanks Kimmie. So don't be afraid to look stupid because you never know when it will pay off!

Salt Lake Temple

I have never been to the Salt Lake City Utah Mormon Temple. I have been dying to go forever and FINALLY made it while in Utah in May. I got some good pictures. I just wish it wasn't so over cast out when we went.

Baby Love

This week on Iheartfaces they are doing baby week! I was SO excited since I JUST got those soooooooo cute pictures of my nephew while in Utah! Then I got nervous after looking through all the entries. There are so many cute babies and beautiful photography. Included in the category is maternity pictures. I was going to then submit a maternity picture of my friend Amandalyn since I just took all those pictures of her too. Not many people submitted maternity pictures. Then I got nervous about that too! LAME! I don't know why I second guess myself all the time. I am running out of time however and need to get this submitted before they close this weeks contest. So since these pictures turned out just perfect with ABSOLUTELY NO EDITING WHAT SO EVER, I decided to go ahead and go with my first instincts and do a picture of my nephew. I wasn't sure which one to do but this one stands out to me! Yes Ladies, his eyes are THAT blue! Hope you enjoy it and all the others over at iheartfaces

Engagement

My friend Lettice from church recently became engaged! She asked me to do engagement pictures for her and I was SO excited to do it. She wanted me to do the wedding and I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO sad because I can't do it. I will be in Utah again! Booooooo How often will I get that chance?
